Coletha Issa
Coletha was born on January, 25TH 1992. She is in the seventh grade class in Rhotia Primary School in Rhotia, Tanzania.
Her father’s name is Issa Stambul and her mother’s name is Mary. She has one brother Stambuly who is 25 years old. Coletha also has six sisters, Editha 23, Fabiola 20, Deborah 14, Jane 12, Nathalia 10, and Juliana 6 years old. She lives with her parents and brother and sisters in their home about 3.5km from Rhotia Primary School.
The family earns its income from farming. They grow maize, beans, sometimes wheat on about 2 hectares (about 5 acres) for food for the family. They don’t grow enough to sell to pay for other expenses. Sometimes the family will get help from relatives or from the government. Coletha helps with the farming.
Coletha is struggling in school. Her best subjects are Mathematics, Science English, Swahili, but she has trouble in Social Studies. For fun she likes to play netball and read story books.
When she finishes primary school at the end of 2008 - 2009 school year, she would like to go to secondary school and then on to higher education. Coletha would like to be a teacher or scientist.
She likes the computer training class because she wants to learn about other people and many other things of interest on the Internet. Coletha is interested in America and would like to know more about the country and its people.
Coletha has started computer training in Project Rhotia’s computer Lab. Serge and Ticha Taran have chosen to be her Level One sponsor.
